I feel like that untitled title makes me sound like a fancy-schmancy professional artist (which I am not now but hopefully one day?). 

It seems I never post anything "original" on here, only fan art (a big part of that is because I feel like I am not good enough yet to do anything convincingly decent, not even fan art, but who ever said that fan art needed to be good....), so I found something I did a while back to post. 

This was part of my last art project of Freshman year (and boy I wish I could have started Sophomore year, but financial difficulties, alas #I'mARealArtistBecauseI'mStarvingAlready) during my Drawing and Composition class. We had to draw two "Interperetive Self Portraits" and this was one of the two that I did. I didn't want the girl to look exactly like me, so I mostly just gave her my hair and eye color, because I feel... awkward drawing myself. It was supposed to mean something like, "I'm so shy and quiet when I'm out in public that nobody can really see the real me, like I'm hiding behind a mask," but in all reality, though that is true, I just wanted to draw a masquerade mask. Designed it myself! I would totally wear it. I watched a couple of different versions of The Phantom of the Opera while I made this, so possible inspiration? Also, I had never done a portrait in color before/ used pastels, so this was a bit of a stretch. In the end, I was rather proud of it. Though it still looks like crap. (I tried to edit the picture a little to make it look as nice as it does in real life, but I think I missed. Oh well.)
